This is essentially footage of me cutting during my Shinkendo test. It was a nerve wracking experience so my technique was somewhat off, but I'd like to share the high speed footage nonetheless.

720p60 PH at 1/60 shutter (I should have put it at 1/100 for better motion capture). Cinelike D gamma. Transcoded into Prores using Final Cut Pro and then conformed into 23.98 using Cinema Tools.

I think this will be great to capture the founder of our art in action the next time he cuts. Great filmmaking tool for fight scenes as well.

Thank you for sharing this Michael!

Looks like you did pretty well on your test, the cuts look clean!

(Not that I know anything..)

That looks like alot fun,
is it just me or is the focus on the background.
Still a nice clip

Nice work Mike.

I'm a bit surprised you set your shutter speed at 1/60. But after looking at the footage, it's not too bad. In my head I thought I would have seen more motion blur. Go fig.

You should definitely get footage of your Master in action!

Yeah, since I was being tested and asked someone to press the record button, the focus wasn't checked and I didn't have time to check the shutter speed.

I will post a properly filmed one once I am able to grab my Sensei in action. Though it probably won't be Tameshigiri for a while.
