I am shooting smoe sequences on the HPX 170 that will be projected onto a 4:3 screen which will be projecting 4:3 archive footage.

I want to maintain the best quality possible shooting HD but also deliver the material so that it can screen onto the 4:3 screen and fill the screen without bars.

If anyone has ideas about what my best options are I would be very grateful.

Just frame properly while shooting. I have a HVX but your HPX should have a 4:3 guide you can use. Then drop your sequence into your 4:3 timeline when you finish editing them. You can again adjust your framing there.

Thanks for the reply. So for post, is it best to edit everything as is and then do the 4:3 adjustment?

Is this done simply by exporting then dropping that into a 4:3 timeline - or is some crop function also required.

Thanks,
Ben

Best to edit in 4:3, resizing/cropping HD footage as needed.
