I'm editing a piece that was filmed with an HVX200 and an XHA1. Of course the HVX captures in true 24p and the XHA1 captures in 24f but when brought in is 29.97. The 24f simulation adds a frame to give the 24p look.

So my question is can I correct this with software? If so, what plug in can I use? If not, will I have to get a converter box like the Matrox MX02 and re-capture the XHA1 footage as 24p?

Thanks.

The 24f simulation adds a frame to give the 24p look.

If indeed it is ONE frame use tools menu to remove advanced pulldown cadence.

If it works, slap yourself and go read up on some stuff. If not then re-form your question.

This isn't dvcpro hd footage, can't use the advanced pulldown. I'm not sure how else I can re-phrase the question. I've got one reel shot in 23.98 and another shot in 29.97 but is simulated to be 23.98 so how can I alter the XHA1 footage so I can edit both on a sequence thats 23.98 without the XHA1 footage looking choppy.

Then here's what I'd do.

I'd send the 24 fps footage back out with pulldown cadence and re-import at 29.97.

have you used cinema tools before, you can look it up, it comes with fcs2.
