Where do you guys held your auditions?
This is my first time doing auditions for my short, I'm planning to do it in a public park. Any other suggestions?

NOT a public park.
Not your apartment or home, either, unless you know the actors already.
Get a rehearsal space, or I think Mike has a room at the local library? Somewhere semi-professional looking, and private. A neutral room somewhere. A community college might rent you a room. I'm sure there are rehearsal spaces in Miami, dance studios, that kind of thing?
In Miami, you prob have some good pro actors down there. If they show up at your audition and it's in a park, they will not take you seriously.
Even though these films we do for the contests are low or no pay, it is still essentially a professional situation, a job interview.

Yah, I book the meeting room at the local library for a very modest sum of $25.00.
They want to raise it on me though. :)
Rehearsals are done at my place once we have all met, and always in a large group. Never one on one.

I have found that it is not a good idea to do auditions by email.

Thank for your suggestion. I have to find out if they rent rooms at the public library around my area.
