View Full Version : Advanced Cropping question/ problem
I want to do that corny character in multiple places scenario. One walking away from the camera, and one walking towards and they exchange a glance in the middle. So I locked the camera down and shot both clips. I am using FCP 6.0 Now when I crop there is a noticeable line where the crop is. Is there a way to get rid of this line? I have after effects but don't now how to use it very well, I was hopping I could do it in fcp.
Thanks

Are you saying that you have both clips on top of each other in the timeline and one is cropped?
If so add a little bit of feathered edge, (just below in crop section). Should help.
Although this also depends on how close your subjects get to the middle of the frame, (where your crop is). As long as they don't cross that line you should be good-if they do, you're talking rotoscope(blah).
-you could also use a garbage matte feathered to cover the line as well.
In the time line I have clip one on top of clip 2. Clip one cropped %0% off the right clip two cropped 50% off the left. Where the two clips meet there is a noticeable seam. I want to make it look flawless. Even when I change the position of the crop to 60 40 I still se a seam?
The feather almost works but is cutting pout some of the character when he comes clos to the line. I thought this would be easier. Thanks

you may have to garbage matte/ keyframe the moment that the character gets close to the feather
