I have a hvx200p with two 16gb p2 cards.

The problem is when I go to download my file to my PC via firewire cable, nothing happens? Is there anyway I can download my video clips from my p2 card to my Windows PC? Please let me know.

Thanks,
Mike

sounds like you would have to install P2cmos from the Panasonic website for that to work.

you need to tell us WAY more:

have you downloaded the p2 drivers?
is your camera set to firewire device?

How are you trying to mount the cam?

Have you gone through the manual that shows how to do this?

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure you can only use USB for PC file transfers and firewire for MAC file transfers. Make sure you have USB HOST set in the OTHER FUNCTIONS menu

I use USB2 on a MacPro and MBP without a problem

no, you can use either usb or firewire on mac or pc.

OK, I finally go my p2 card on to my PC via usb cord, which took FOREVER! I've always used firewire cables in the past with my DVX and I can't understand why it's taking so long for my p2 cards to download when I just recorded a few minutes of HD footage? Does anyone know of a way I can use my firewire cable with my hvx?

BTW, I've installed all the latest drivers and P2cmos from Panasonic's website.

Thank you for all the speedy replies! I really appreciate it!!

Hi Michael,

May I suggest your post all your computer specs , this will save heaps of back n forth posts , you are the only one who knows what your working with , so make it easy for all by posting your specs, remember this shared knowledge if free.
ie,
Computer model and processor speed
Ram installed
internal and attached HDD's size and connections.

Personally I'm weary of posts that don't give enough information of the set-up, many people will "post" before they read their manuals and search some forums.
