Im having a bit of trouble using FCP and Log and Transfer. Sometimes when I connect the camera via USB cable to my MBP, it detects the clips and i have no problem transcoding into my sequence. However, most of the time, when I open Log and Transfer, there are no clips detected and I can't drag any into the window. What am I doing wrong??

I could be speaking in complete ignorance, but isn't there a plugin package that causes this? FxFactory or something? I have it on my computer, and my computer will not see footage using log and transfer about 50% of the time.

ya know.. A weird thing. My FCP does the same thing. If I leave it for 3 or 4 minutes all the clips show up. Weird.. Hopefully the next version will fix this..

OK, I have a fix! Open up Final Cut Pro and then open the Log and Transfer window. THEN plug in your camera. You have to have the cam UNPLUGGED while the Log and Transfer window is open, then it can be plugged in and it will recognize it. if this works for yall, let me know.

If you use Perian, make sure its 1.1.3, and make sure FxFactory is up to date with version 2.0.6 in case you have anymore issues.

Have you set a custom path in log and transfer to the folder?

I have the same problem and reinstalled my first generation 15 inch Macbook Pro from scratch and it started to work fine. Then I installed Magic Bullet Looks and the problem started to occur again so I did another complete clean reinstall (always erase and install) and this time the problem wasn't fixed. I have to say it's probably because my system is a finicky little SOB.

iMovie 09 recognizes the card fine but has a big no entry sign (no smoking style... or ghostbusters style) over each clip telling me I can't import.

When it was working I was a really happy camper but now I'm bummed and want a new computer.

sometimes mine will take a few seconds, up to 25'sh, to see it. but usually i don't work off a card. i copy the private folder to a drive and then work from that.

Why not also buy an SD card reader and then you don't have to use the cam to connect and leave it comfy in it's bag. My SD reader was like 8 bucks I think... not a bad investment and sometimes you don't want to tie up your camera when transfering...
