Hi,

Sorry if this question has been addressed before, but I couldn't find anything through forum search. I just bought a hv20, and after taking a video with a cassette, I connected the camera to my computer via firewire. I then opened up windows movie maker (Vista version) and imported the video from the camera. After it's done importing, I try to view the video. The image quality is good, but the video lags every 1-2 seconds. Why is this? Am I doing something wrong? What do you guys suggest?

Just to note, I also asked my friend to view it on their computer (After uploading to vimeo), and they say it's laggy for them as well. My computer is relatively new, just as hers.

Thanks.

~Jason

It may be related to capture. Try using HDV split to capture.

ok, how do i switch to hdv split to capture?

also, if it's a capture issue, wouldn't it also be laggy when i playback on the camcorder (which it's not)? thanks.

No, it wouldn't. If it was also laggy in the camcorder then there would be a problem with the recording or the camcorder itself. You may be experiencing a problem related to Windows Movie Maker while capturing/transferring. Google HDV split. It is a free capturing software. Capture using that. It may solve your problem
