Screen grabs

I am for the first time taking screen grabs off FCP & when I do via

File>Export>using quick time conversion> Still image> JPEG, so on and so forth

My stills come out miss per portioned...
It smashes the pic into I think 4:3 aspect still.
Does anyone know why? and what option I can change to correct this? Thanks

open in photoshop and change it to square pix.

Are your screen grabs intended to be 16:9 in nature?

If so you can create a 1280x720 (HDTV 720P)timeline w/a pixel aspect ratio of Square, drop your screen grab (Modify>Still Image)in there and export QT conversion. Choose Still image then you have option for PNG, JPEG, TIFF etc.

you can also export QT.MOV then open in QT and re-export as Still image. (Extra steps though)

Have you tried just doing a screen capture and cropping out everything else?
