$200 trade in for an 8 gig card when buying a 32 gig card? Why not sell the card on eBay for $300? I'll be very surprised if a lot people do this trade in program.

I suppose this is a move in the right direction, as the cost of the cards Is a big issue for many users, if you got your first cards for nothing and now have a budget for bigger cards, it's great.
If you paid retail for your 4 and 8 gig cards, then Hmmmmm.
this "trade up" reminds me of another company that "Trade's" equipment , then destroys it to get it "off the market", so they can keep selling the latest n greatest.

PS, I saved by buying a Fuji 32gig card, performs the same as my Pana 32gig cards.
I'd suggest you shop around if buying cards.

Fuji has cards??? I'm actually thinking about getting rid of my 200 just because the cards are so damn expensive. I may have a long form project coming up but there is no budget for P2 cards :(

Hi Bill,
I bought my Fuji 32gig about nov last year, it's a good performer, no different than my Pana 32gigs, Details on my site, I don't know why there are not available in the US. many posts floated about then on the issue, just troll about.

I wonder with Panasonic if I can trade in 3 8 gigs for a 32 ???

Has anyone mentioned if you can only trade in one card per purchase or can you trade in multiple cards?

Thanks Bill, yes I use the "Kiss" principle, it works 99% of the time on most projects too.

Melbourne has had a heat wave recently, Bit cooler in Jakarta I believe. it's always hot in my part of Victoria, has been over 40C now for nearly two weeks, but it is summer here.

PS, just heard on news that Pana has sacked heaps of workers, and is down many many dollars, this may add to some discounts for the P2 cards ?, time will tell I suppose.

There are no trade-in limits. You can trade in one card per one card purchase.

Hi Tom,
i checked the panasonic US site this morning and didn't see a formal announcement yet.
Panasonic has issued a formal announcement to dealers. I'd expect the main Panasonic site to be updated in the next week or two.

Sounds like a dumb question but what's Panasonic doing with all the P2 cards they are getting in for rebates?

I can't afford a 32GB or 64GB card right now but would love to buy a used 8GB or 16GB card if Panasonic was reselling them. Although, perhaps they wouldn't sell them as cheap as you could get on here or on ebay too, so maybe that's just wishful thinking too.
