I need to shoot a scene where a man is sitting at a desk and he is in real time while everyone/thing else behind him is in fast motion. He will be in an office sitting at his desk. What is the best way to film this and edit it?
Any suggestions would help. Thanks!

Either have him move REALLY slow... or green screen him and the desk in.
Those are the two ways the pros use.

Greenscreen will be easiest if you want it to look polished, but you can't discount the old-school, "pick up the pen really slowly" route. It worked for the Ramones:
