I'm making a reel for my boss, and am still learning how to use the EX1 that got dropped in my lap, so I was wondering how I should export it so it can go on the web and on a DVD. Still having decent quality, but it doesn't have to be amazing.
Thanks for the help guys.

For your ex1 stuff use this video for web http://vimeo.com/2051588
for dvd export with compressor using best quality 90 minutes.

I'd agree with the last two posters. Vimeo is a fantastic portal to host video. I use it as a failsafe when I have to be able to show something and am having issues encoding.
Case in point: I just finished a project, exported it using Compressor as a quicktime movie to be burned to a DVD. It runs fine on all of my computers at home but bring it to my office and it won't play due to network and driver issues. So having it available on Vimeo was helpful.
You don't mention your experience level with outputing DVDs etc so I'd just advise you not to get frustrated. Sometimes it's not as easy as a point and click export, particularly if you'll be playing it on older machines or machines protected by network security features. It's a good idea to export a couple of versions (Quicktime, H.264 and to the web). This way if one fails you have a backup.
If you're on a mac with FCS, you can take those Vimeo settings and plug them into Compressor and save them. Then in the future you can just drag the output setting into the job window and hit "submit."

h.264, 1280x720, and depending on the duration and your uploading speed you can adjust the bitrate. what you would think the best bit rate you can pull off or choose best settings if it's a just a few seconds or a minute.

When uploading HD footage to YouTube, does the bit rate really matter? I know the dimension thing is important, but I'm trying to figure out how to get the option of watching it in HD out.

anything 1280x720 will go hd, but it takes sometime for youtube to show the hd link, it encodes to standard def first then hd, give it some time and the hd will show up.

At once epic in scope and intimate in detail, David Fincher's THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON is certainly the director's most emotional film to date (though FIGHT CLUB and SEVEN don't offer much in the way of competition). Loosely based on an F. Scott Fitzgerald story, this romantic drama tells the tale of Benjamin Button (Brad Pitt), born in 1918 in New Orleans as a baby with wrinkles, cataracts, and arthritis. Benjamin will age backwards, getting younger as he watches those around him growing older. Included in that group are his adoptive mother, Queenie (Taraji P. Henson), and Daisy (Cate Blanchett), the love of his life whom he meets when she is just a little girl and he is an old man. They age in reverse, but despite Benjamin's globe-trotting adventures, their lives repeatedly intersect. The script from Oscar winner Eric Roth bears more than a few hallmarks in common with his earlier work on FORREST GUMP: both adaptations cross decades and continents. But BENJAMIN's script or even the fine acting aren't its most impressive accomplishment; the technology--both CGI and makeup--used to make Benjamin and Daisy age are remarkable, and makes the film entirely believable, but they're certainly aided by fine performances from both Pitt and Blanchett. The triumph of technology only serves to underscore the beauty of this film and of the love story at its heart.
