Hi there,
Iīve been reading a lot about gain and noise with the HVX 200 and I still have a question...is there any way to control or change the gain from the MENU? I mean, I read about setting the gain to 0 or maybe - 3, but I canīt find a way to do it on my HVX 200.
Thank you,
Sebam

The switch is found next to the white balance toggle switch. You can change the settings of the high medium and low from inside the camera's menu system. 0 to +18 depending on your camera's recording settings. There is no such thing as -3 on the HVX.
Beware. increased gain equals increased grain.

Thanks J, I already know where the switch is, I was asking about how to change the gain level from the MENU...my gain level is between 0 and 12 (9 at the medium). So I was wondering if there is any way to take it to the lowest setting from the menu, but canīt find anything related to the gain. Does the KNEE function is the answer to this problem?
thanks,
Sebam

Have you looked in the manual? I mean actually looked? 'Cause in mine Gain settings are discussed on page 103, in the section about SW Mode screen... Maybe page 103 is missing from your manual ? I had heard that because of economic problems, Panasonic needed to cut back on printing costs - so they left out pages, since it would appear that most don't read it anyway.
