Reinterlacing footage

does anyone know a proper way to reinterlace progressive footage(30p to 60i)? i have ReelSmart fieldskit but theres no proper tutorials anywhere that i can find about reinterlacing footage. on all my attempts, the fields seem to not get separated properly.

I have some ideas but before I explain I have to know what reason do you think you need interlaced footage. I can only think of a few reasons why and those are for very specific reasons.
