Avid background and still learning FCP. How do you set-it up to stop at the end of a clip or stop at the end of the sequence and not start over playing back from the beginning? Kind of annoying..

Any thoughts.

Thanks,
john

what i know is that it always stops at the end of the sequence, i have never seen an auto repeat function(but i only look for the functions that i actually use).

as for the play clip part, there is a play in to out option, if your staying on any clip press x to make in and out point then press (shift+\), you can customize of course to something more keyboard friendly, keybord=>customize then type play, you will find it easily.

there are also play to marker and play marker, if you use markers. dependingon what you use you can customize a key around it and use it.

You probably have "loop playback" on. You can go to view and uncheck loop playback. I believe the shortcut is shift or control L.
