Looking at selling my HVX200.
Need to find out the hours, dont currently have the camera in my hands.
JUST the camera, no cards.
I have all the original packaging, accessories, barry green book, and a custom pelican case.
Camera was bought and strictly maintained at Abel Cine Tech.
Any Ideas on what I should hope to get?
Yes I have some research but more input is always nice.

Go to the marketplace and take a look at what they are selling for.
Hours are a big issue and the 200 sells for less than the 200a and 170

I would say between $3000-3500 depending on the hours and because there are no cards included.

Just heard back from Abel. Hours are high, 1007 operation hours.
I'm not too concerned about that as the camera was serviced by Abel every time it came back from a job.
I thinking if I got $2800 for it that would be a fair price, but I am always willing to negotiate.

Take a look on eBay for what they've sold for recently. They're listed under "recently completed" auctions on the sidebar once you've searched for hvx200s. It's probably the best way I know of to get a sense of the current marketplace. eBay prices will vary quite a bit though, depending on last-second-auction frenzy or the lack thereof, so you might want to look at several prices, throw out the highest and lowest ones, and then average the rest.

Amazingly, we have recently seen HVX200s going for as low as $2,300.00. Wow. I sold mine about five months ago for $3,800.00. Prices on HVX200s have fallen much quicker than they ever did with the DVX100. I think a lot of it depends on hours and it depends on what sorts of little accessories you will include and of course, if and what size P2 cards you will include.
Good luck,
Dan

pd, where did you sell yours?
ebay or craigslist is probably going to be your best bet. everyone here is pretty up on whats what.
but on those sites you are more likely to find folks willing to bid it up or pay a higher price...
i sold my hvx for a pretty decent price on ebay about 8 months ago

I have it listed on CL at the moment. I typically don't like ebay. So, I've never sold on it...not sure if that would decrease my chances to sell since I have no seller rating.

I just a local offer for $2550 cash.
Too low?
I think whats going against me is there are no P2 cards and 1007 operational hours. But hey, I might be selling myself short...just want to know before I reply.

1007 hours? Wow, that's a lot. If it is only P2 hours, no worries, P2 operation uses basically no moving parts. If it is tape, that's no good.
I would hunt around for a lower hour camera personally.

Its just operational hours, which I figured is no big deal. I think it has very little to no tape hours.
I don't want people to hunt...I want to them to buy my camera :)

You should at least get $3,000 for it.
I got $3,700 for mine with an 8 gig card, and that was painful to do...

My camera has paid for itself 2x over. I'm just looking to get a fair amount.
I did list it for 3g on CL to see if I got bites...since they always come back with ludicrous offers.
