I think it's a good kit overall.. Did you know you can save a lot of money by getting MxS opposed to SxS? ( I sound like an infomercial.. but I'm really just happy with their product..) You can't overcrank with MxS.. but I'm fine w/ overcranking w/ my 2 8 Gig SxS. You get another 8 Gig with a mail in rebate.
Just my 2 cents...
EDIT: I ment MxR.. not KxS.. http://e-films.com.au/

I would change the list:
(2) Varizoom. Give me a break!! That's just for show. You don't need that.
(4) Dump the SxS cards. They're dead. Get MxS card adaptors and a few 16G flash cards.
(9) Get the Rode NTG-3 which will kick some serious butt.

I didn't think the EX1 had LANC, so how you can even use a LANC control zoom with it?

If videography is just a hobby, get a HVR-A1 and save the extra money for a haircut.

won't do that. As far as I know from the XDCAM EXperience Tour, these cards don't match the speed of the SxS.
So you will probably loose your data when recording in Q&S mode.
@Nasser: I'll never regret buying the EX1. Very good choice.
My setup is a little different, but you ordered good stuff:)

Yes, you need some MxR adapters. One for each SDHC card.

I am also working with an apple MacBook Pro (2,66GHz/4GB Ram) and, sadly to mention, you can reach its limits really quick.
Now I've to wait for the i7 MacPro to be released.
What kind of movies are you going to film?

Hardly for show, but invaluable for tripod mounted work, unless you fancy juggling one hand on the focus ring and the other on the zoom rocker, whilst trying to pan or tilt with your third hand !!!!!! EX1 does not have a lanc socket, so you would need a zoom controller, like this
