So, I just watched a 3D movie and took my glasses home. It made me wonder if there's any way to make a video for it...

I looked up some info on them. They use a circle polarizer to filter out images from the left and right eyes. They display it at 72fps, alternating between the left and right eyes 3 times. In other words, it's 24p times 3.

More info here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B04tsJAZeg

I think it'd be a little choppier but 48fps would probably be just fine, and probably easier to display in flash.

Here's what I figured out they're able to do:

GLASSES INVERTED - POLARIZATION:

GLASSES NOT INVERTED - HUE SHIFT:

It's funny because only the screen polarizes - everything else remains the same.

Does anyone have any idea how to get these to polarize when not inverted?
