I'm not sure if this is a common issue, but when i watch my 720 60p footage on my computer, vegas seems to have what we like to call a seizure and not play my footage clearly, it glitches and doesn't play right, is this a common thing or am I alone here?

Vegas currently does not work with 60P.
Hopefully an update is coming soon.
Otherwise, Vegas handles the HMC-150 well if you have a Quad core CPU.

duo core for me : / come on sony, pull through for me!
I have an Intel quad core Q6600 with 4GB of ram but it seems to make no difference.
I got screwed with my early weddings using these cameras because I shot most of them in 50P and thanks to Vegas' craptacular handling of 50P I had to transcode the footage from each project, now each wedding takes up a whopping 500GB (actually 1TB due to redundancy backup) where one wedding would normally only use up around 120GB (including redundant copy on alternate HDD.)
I feel like I have an excellent tool but can't utilise it fully because Vegas refuses to play ball, so I have to shoot everything in either 50i or 25P :(
I lodged a request with Sony Creative Software over 2 months ago regarding Vegas instability with long GOP footage from Panasonic & JVC cameras but they've yet to respond... I don't think they give a damn about other camera owners using Vegas :(
