I'm just wondering where the best place to buy the EX3 is in the Chicago area?

Go to pro.sony.com and click on XDCAM cameras. Select the EX-3. There will be a "locate a reseller" box. Enter the zip code and radius and you will get a list of authorized dealers. The question, of course, is whether any of those dealers have one in stock.

A rule of thumb on any board is to support the board sponsors, so in order to sustain this excellent source of info for all of us, I would urge you to buy from a sponsor.

Try giving Full Compass a call. I've ordered all my cameras and accessories from them and their customer service is so much better than B&H. They're based just outside of Madison, so you get the benefits of a tax-free purchase and they usually will have it to you next day with Fedex ground since they're so close. I'd also rather support a midwestern based company.
