is anyone using Windows Media Encoder

the reason i ask is i'm going to want to turn around some video quickly to the web. I'm going to want to drag and drop from card to hard drive on my lap top...so far the lap top has no editing software and i was hoping to simply encode to windows media and upload.

does win media encoder recognize the raw files from the camera?

I transcoded some PH 720p mts files with media encoder which worked fine for a while and then media encoder stared crashing.

When you select "convert file" you will NOT see mts listed so you'll need to go to "All Files" and then pick your mts files.

When it worked it was kinda hard to beat those wmv hd files for quality and easy play back...

yeah, i've done some hd wmv encodes that look stunning.
