Question 1)

*button seems to lock the exposure - good - but after maybe 15seconds it goes auto again

Is there a way of making this lock until unlocked

I know the lock will probably be lost should LV be disabled

Question 2)

My poxy computer cant run 5dii footage well in FCP - it can just handle the EX1 (1080-25p) - is there that much more data or am I missing a setting

Comment

The 5d appears to be very very good (using nikons and novoflex adapter)

Menu >> 6th block along (second yellow wrench) >> Live View/Movie func etc >> Metering timer >> change to '30 min.'

Yep ! :( Or when the white balance is changed.

Yep !! 5D2 files are pretty heavy going on anything but a relatively new and fast computer.

Try updating your quicktime to 7.6 (free) some people have said this helps with playback (and it also makes the 5D2 movie files less 'crushed' in the blacks and whites.)

Other than that you could transcode all your footage for editing into another codec such as Prores.

Me too, Nikon lenses + a novoflex, works great and pretty much essential to use Nikons with a manual aperture ring if you want to shoot video.

I got most of that now

Shot some hand ehld 5d tonight - really cool in low light f 1.4

I will try ProRes

Do you recomend a way of batching the 'rushes' into that format (overnight no-doubt)
