I am about to buy a cs4 collection, but because i have both OS on different computers, i am quiet confused. Lets say, i purchased the master collection, May i will able to install it both apple and Vista? It doesn't need to be installed at the same time, but i couldn't dedice yet, if i should install it to my mac pro or Vista based pc.

Do they send different installation key for different OS, or just the same key with different cd?

Can someone help about it?

Thanks..

PS: By the way, does program have advantages or disadvantages according to platform, i would prefer in vista(i don't point the differences between mac and pc, just cs4)

Photoshop comes with a 64bit version, so if you run on Vista 64, there is that.

As to running it on two machines... in theory you can do that, as the license allows you to install on up to three machines I believe (so long as they aren't running at the same time).

However, unless they ship the Master Collection with both Mac and Windows install DVD's I dont know how you could install it on both OS's with the same purchase. As far as I know, you have to buy either a Mac Version or a Windows version. That's what I had to do when I bought the Production Premium version. So it kind of depends on which OS you prefer, and which is the better computer hardware wise.

If you absolutely want it on both Mac and Windows, I would contact Adobe about that.

CS4 is platform-dependent meaning you only have a license to run it on the platform for which it was initially purchased. I know in the past Adobe would let you cross-grade by calling them and essentially giving up one license for the other but I don't know if they would do that for CS4...

I just purchased an upgrade to CS4 Production Premium for Windows (I also have a Mac but I only run Final Cut Pro and Logic Audio 8 on it). The Mac version is not on the DVD's I received.

FWIW, I have done some research and it seems that running CS4 on Vista Ultimate 64-bit with lots of RAM and a Quad processor seems to be pretty stable with very good performance.

Hımmm, then i have to choose one of the OS, since my desktop PC system is newer and more powerfull then my old mac book pro, i would prefer to work on it. But its so sad that i will not be able to install it to my new ROCKET mac pro, which i am planning to buy in few months:(

There are more features on Windows. Especially video card acceleration.

You can get the card for a Mac Pro, but the Mac version of Premiere won't use it for acceleration.

so actually we can say premiere is more usefull and effective with windows platform...(ı don't want to open up a huge endless discussion here:) at least on some issues...
