This footage has a mix of on camera and off camera lighting. It's really just some raw footage mixed with a song from the band. I played around with some narrow Depth of Field shots.

I have read repeatedly that it's very difficult to get narrow Depth of Field shots with a camcorder with small sensors (like the 1/3" in the HMC-150).
This seems to show that you got some good D of F results. Any tricks you used?

Mark,
That's some very impressive footage! But how were you able to control depth of field like that?

First, follow the number one rule of a narrow DoF, open the lens up. Then zoom in. It's tougher to get a steady handheld shot when zoomed in, but that's when the DoF is really narrow, along with a wide f/stop. You can get a narrow DoF with 1/3 chips, it just takes more work.

Thanks. The HMC is a great camera and a real steal at the street price of $3200. It's the first handheld Panasonic I have ever shot with. I'm now a believer in "Panny Mojo".
