Anyone here successfully use manual focus via a LANC controller on the HVR-Z7U?

If so, can you give me a mfg. / model number / settings for LANC or focus to make this work?

We have the Varizoom PGL LANC controller for our remote head jib. Zoom seems to be working, but not focus.

Hi Erik,
Just thought I'd let you know what I know about LANC on the Z7U. I believe that focus works okay--at least there are no issues that I'm aware of. But for zoom, try dialing down to the slowest speed on the varizoom and zoom through the entire 12x range. Then carefully use the zoom rocker on the camcorder and do the same thing--at the slowest speed. You'll fing that you can't do very slow zooms through LANC. I've been in contact with Sony about this and they finally verified this problem. It totally sucks for me because I NEED that to work. I was told that it will be addressed, but it could take a long time... Good luck with it.
