View Full Version : HVX200a problem: LCD posterization in HD. Normal?

I've owned an HVX200 for two years. Ordered an HVX200a from B&H and it arrived DOA, wouldn't even turn on. Just got the replacement today and I'm seeing MAJOR posterization and noise in low light on the LCD in all of the HD modes. Switch to SD and it immediately disappears. And it's only on the LCD, it does not show up in the EVF or the recorded footage (viewed on a computer). But it's so severe that it makes it hard to set a shot in low light.

I checked it side by side with my HVX200, with all the same settings throughout the menu; this is only showing up in the HVX200A. Before I go through the hassle of another return, I wanted to check in to see if anyone else has had this issue and perhaps found a fix (I see no updates for the HVX200A on Panasonic's site). Thanks!

I have the 170, which uses the same screen and I have never seen that. You should probably return it.

I'm thinking the same. I've never had B&H send me a bad item, and now they've sent me two in a row!
