Sony transfer software (https://servicesplus.us.sony.biz/sony-software-model-PDZKP1.aspx)

Sony clip browser (https://servicesplus.us.sony.biz/sony-software-model-XDZP1.aspx)

You should view your footage in the above tools.

Use VLC player.

I made a thread about this yesterday.

You can just make a folder and drag the entire BPav file over, with everything in it. you can't hear sound, but you can use FCP later to do whatever with it.

I only have the mov files on a drive that have already been imported,

If you have .mov files, then they have been processed elsewhere, right? Does Quicktime give you the codec details?

I imported them with the sony xdcam transfer software, saved the footage on a drive and now want to view the clips on quicktime on another mac that does not have FCP

Nothing seems to be working, quicktime just plays the sound .

HELP!

Cheers

Open it in QuickTime Pro and export it as an MPEG-4 video, and it should play.

Plus, the file size will not change significantly.

You'd need to install the Sony software to view it on the other Mac. The QT codec for the EX cameras is part of FCP IIRC.
