I've been looking at the Letus extreme and other 35mm adapters. These adapters are designed to be mounted on fixed lens cameras such as the EX1 or Z1. However they are relatively expensive. I'm wondering whether it isn't cheaper to just bypass the fixed les cameras and go with removable lens cameras (such as the Z7 or EX3) and use some sort of ring adapters to get the same job done. Are there ring adapters for the Z7 or EX3 which allow the same low depth of field end result as the Letus but without the awkward lens on lens compromise? Wont the ACM-17 get the job done?

i don't think u will get the same result, if u put a 35mm or a nikon lens on a ex1 or ex3 using a ring adapter, the sensor part will look at the middle of the lens and u won't get 35mm equivalent. also using this little of the lens, the image will be softer.
the lens on the ex cams is good, u don't need to worry about it.
u can have an adapter for the ex3 for 2/3" lens, but that also looks at a portion of the lens.
the bigger lens will be pretty much useless or unusable result.
it's not a magical ring adapter that will make the sensor bigger, it'll just mount the lens.
that's why the dslrs are so hyped, because something like the 5d has a full frame sensor.

ring adapters don't do what 35mm still lens adapters do. If you need to replicate 35mm DoF, you'll need to pony up for the letus.

The relay that is coming out.. that will enable us to take off the EX3 lens right? So it will go...
EX3 > Relay > Letus Ultimate (or extreme..) > 35mm Lens Right?

What would be the Zeiss equivalent to a Nikon 50mm lens?

Yes, the relay would solve that issue and bypass the stock removable lens on the EX3. I currently have a Letus35 Extreme mounted on my EX3 with a Nikon mount Zeiss 50/1.4. he overall setup (camera, stock fuji lens, Letus35, Nikon lens) is heavy and bulky, but the images are excellent and worth the weight and awkwardness. For now.

Thanks for getting back to me Anthem. Glad to hear we can ditch the fuji lens when the relay comes out. Does anyone know if it will be significantly lighter? and will there be less light loss?

Any new news, on when that relay will be ready?
