Well I first want to say thanks to dvxuser as this was kind of my launching point :). I graduated with a degree in Video production in December of 2006 and then I found dvxuser.com and from there I continued learning post work and most recently I've been teaching my self visual effects more specifically matchmoving. Dvxuser was my grad school so to speak.
It seems all my hard work is starting to pay off I finished working on my first major Hollywood feature at the end of 2008. The film is Duplicity it stars Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, Tom Wilkinson, and Paul Giamatti.
I currently live in St. Louis, MO so that sucks for the career I want to pursue. I hope to move to LA this year or at least somewhere better than St. Louis.
Sorry if I sound a bit to excited :)

I'm with ya. This winter has been a pain in the ass and I haven't done anything aside from a few freelance gigs.

I hear that horse well I got a few really cool gigs this winter as you know but none of them were in St. Louis all L.A. Seems like that is another sign I need to get there!
Hope to take some photos soon I really want to do some really abstract photos.

That is pretty cool Josh.
But as a tip, you might want to think about intentionally mis-spelling your name is some weird affected Hollywood way or change your name. Because the XIII after your name means that there are twelve other namesakes out there also on IMDB. See what I mean? You move to LA, work your way up to that first good opportunity and they go to check you on IMDB and see that all of the stuff on your CV isn't there and there is a bunch of other stuff that they happened to not like. Or some other mis-identity mess up.
Sounds affected to do this but I have several other friends with common names and they have had some issues with this. It's almost a little like identity theft, where you get mistaken for other namesakes and they get mistaken for you?
Just a thought if you are serious about the business. Or include your middle name, my boss did that because there are three or four of his name on IMDB and he was tired of missing credits on his listing. Generally producers who are hiring you and doing the IMDB listing are pretty lazy about details like this (getting your credit right), it is a lot of work to get something onto IMDB when it is a whole feature or tv show if the producer is lisiting everyone. You need your own identity instead of being "number 13".

Hello Dan that is a great tip! Do you have any clue about changing your name on IMDB? Hoping its not a long cumbersome process.
Maybe I will add my middle name, James or middle initial.

IMDB is massively confusing until you figure it out, then it is amazingly easy but tedious. It usually takes me anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour to enter each project and all of the associated cast, crew, search details, etc. The more details you can enter, the greater your chances are of your entry being listed in a timely manner.
Best of luck,
Dan
