Well to start off.. I had an incredibility hard time with this project. It was just a spur of the moment thing to do with some friends in my hometown before we all went back to school for another few months. The script was written up in about an hour and we organized it the day of.

I would have liked to do some voice over work and reshoot some things but =\ everybody's gone, away at school now so I had to deal with what I got.

Regardless... shot it on the hmc so I figured somebody here might want to check it out.

For what it's worth:

liked the way the story was told

the editing could have been somewhat smoother but its not like you didnt try
you explained the footage was bein bad right?

Yeah I mean.. it's kind of a dissapointment but I'm taking it as a learning experience. It was like 20 degrees outside.. some snow on the ground, and everybody including myself was suffering halfway through so we just quickly shot the rest of it as fast as we could hoping we got all the shots.

Then the footage wasn't handling right on final cut cause everytime I closed the program the files went offline lol.. so my only option was to edit in one sitting.

But like I said.. learning experience. I definitely agree with you that the editing coulda been smoother, hopefully much improvements the next time around =] thanks!

im actually thinking about getting it further down the line

have you figured out why the footage did that?

I was thinking maybe final cut preferences got messed up or something I dont know. NEVER had a problem up until now.. also my first time shooting in 30p.. (left it in 30p by accident) so I'm guessing something w/ that as well. It's all on the fault of final cut though.. the camera is golden

Nice! Grading is good! Rich in colours! I noticed that some shots are out of focus? Background being in focus and person's head blurry? Did you use auto focus? Anyways it could be because the video is small on Vimeo? Have a 720p?

Not sure why it's like that. Might have done something wrong during the shoot. My brain was frozen =X lol

I thought it was well done. I really like the shot where the sun is backlighting the two characters on the swing. Thomas, are you using a UV filter or any kind of glass in front of the lens?
