Hi,
2 questions....
Question 1.)
I'm utilising P2 footage show at 720pn at 25f/s on my HVX into Premiere Pro CS4. (I am somewhat new to the HVX and different fps footage)
When I look through the presets it mentions:
Editing mode: P2 720p 50Hz DVCPROHD
Timebase: 50.00fps
But it has no reference to 25 fps?
I've imported it just as is at 50fps ...and it 'seems' to work...but is this correct?
I did find this comment buried on a forum:
"To edit DVCPROHD 720p footage shot at 25fps (e.g. 25pN native mode footage from PAL versions of the Panasonic HVX200 camera), choose the DVCPROHD 720p 50p preset. Then, select the Custom Settings tab. Then, from the Timebase drop-down menu, select 25.00frames/second, and click OK."
Does this stilll apply in CS4?
Question 2:
I understand the basic concept of frames per second but am confused about how this applies to the editing environment. ie. what difference does it make to have the timebase setting at 50fps or 25fps if the original footage was shot at 25fps anyway? CAn anyone please clarify....
Thanks.
