Media Encoder CS4

I'm having problems with this.. .I'm trying to encode a 25 minute timeline and no matter what options I picked (quicktime, H264..etc) it never completed the encoding... about 1/4 done then just stops.. saying "unknown error"... I'm not sure why... I have encoded many short test clips before but never exceeds 10 minutes... so is the length my issue here? anyone has ever run into this? how do i go and find out what was wrong?

i think it may have something to do with my scratch disk... i pointed Encoder to another drive that has more space and re-render the time line and so far, it passed the point that it last failed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! will know for sure the next hour or so!

LOL I guess I panic way too early... that scrach disk indeed helps but it still stops at 70%... so I was like... what's going on... then I went back to check everything and I found an option when exporting to tell Encoder to "User the Preview Files"... I turn it on and wham! encoding went by super fast... 20 min total instead of 1 hr 30 min... and it completed without stopping!

okay.. i feel weird talking to myself... but anyways.. hope it helps if someone else runs into the same issue.

no same issue but wondered what that excatlly means ''USer the preview files''?

It's a mistyped... "use preview files" not "user" LOL .. sorry.. It's under a hidden option from a little drop down menu, see the screenshot below:

ohh sure, nice to know that it really worked. I think Media encoder is the smartest tool in cs4:)
