Hey everyone,
I've run out of ideas and decided to post on the forum. I have a Sony VX2000. A few months ago, the mic got a little disconnected but it still worked, even though it hung down a little bit. But about a month ago, it started producing no sound except a buzzing noise when the switch on the side is on the MIC setting (and nothing whatsoever when it is on the LINE setting).
So, I figure the built-in mic is broken, and decide it's cheaper to buy an external mic to mount instead of getting it fixed. I bought the Sony ECM-MS908C, which is a small mic that fits onto the shoe accessory, and plugs into 1/4 jack on the side.
I still get the same effect with this new mic. I tested the mic on my mac and it works fine, batteries are good and everything. I have the camera set on manual, the audio set on manual, with the audio level all the way up, and I have tried the switch on the side on both MIC and LINE settings.
Is there something I am missing here? I'm hoping it's just some setting I overlooked. Any one have any advice or ideas?
Thanks to anyone who reads this,
Brian Shrader
