This footage was shot with the HMC150. I shot in various frame rates and shutter speeds. I was tagging along with a photographer friend at this wedding just to do low light testing and comparisons with the Z1. Please ignore the sound quality because I did not mic the band like I would if it was a real gig.

How do you think it compared to the Z1 Mark? I think my 151 is great but it my first HD camcorder so I'm nit sure how much better it is.

Hi Stuart,

The HMC150 is better in low light than the Z1.

Hi mikeymic,

The HMC is better and sharper in low light than the Z1. In post you can pull more out of the HMC150. All of this is to be expected, afterall, the Z1 has been out for about 4-5 years, but it is a good reference point for the same reason...there are so many of them out there.

What does "scene 4" do for the image in this camera?

Do you mind posting your low light scene settings? Thanks

Hi male_man and jjneff,

I used the stock F4 setting. It makes low light footage look brighter and makes the colors pop, but it can also add some noise, so when I am using Scene File 4, I limit the gain to 9 dB. When I'm using Scene File 1, I limit the gain to 12 dB.

I have not had the time to go into the Scene Files and do some tweaking.
