Hi,

I want to start doing corporate and event photography coverage, I have a lot of experience covering events as a videographer, and I have a lot of experience as a photographer for hobby-like activities so I have a decent idea how it works.

I have been asked to give a quote for corporate social event work - such as festivals & fashion shows and corporate portrait work. The thing is I have no idea how photography pricing works...

What are your suggestions as how to give a price guide?

e.g. For a 4 hour shoot of a festival with photos to be put on website, the website company gives people the options of buying photos.

Thanks for your time!

*Edit - I have SLR camera with lenses

I can't give you a straight answer. Rates all depend on how good you are and how much experience you have that shows how good you are. You might want to consider taking it for a cheap price to get some experience and build your portfolio. Eventualy you will begin to realize how much yout time is worth and after that you will begin to realize how much you photos worth. Its true that video helps with photography but don't just assume because you are good/great videographer, photography will be easy the first few times. Its a different way of approaching the event.
