Just thought I'd share some pics from my recent trip. Shot on a rebel XT with 3 different lenses:

Stock 18-55 3.5-5.6
24-70 2.8L
50 1.8

This trip has taught me not to underestimate the stock lens for outdoor pics when it can be stopped down to f.8. It's very lightweight, wide and unobtrusive.

Dude! You guys went all over the place. Wish I knew when you were in Atlanta, I would have had to meet up with ya! Good to see ya getting out early and staying out late for some night stuff.

Personal fav....... Sucker for bokeh

Totally missed that this post got responses.

The Disney fireworks came out very nice. I was set up in between two photographers who were on tripods doing long shutter speed pics with big zoom lenses. I was just there with my cropped sensor and 50 1.4 lens @ 1600 ISO. Long shutter speed pics work sometimes for fireworks but a lot of times the smoke ruins them. In addition, I was able to be more versatile with my shots I could easily frame and re-frame my shots and also put the castle on an angle. The light from the fireworks allowed me to shoot at 1/100th between f2 and f11 depending on how bright the shot was.

Thanks Dan, yes the OOFH were great in Charleston! I have some shots that are just covered with them. Unfortunately we didn't have time to sleep over in Atlanta, just a stop over on the way back to NJ.
