I'm trying to build a hose that can run 2 xlr's & a 1/8" stereo headpone return (from a Wendt X3 pre to a Panasonic HVX-200- I need the return in order to double-check the sound feed).
My question = Can I use the 7-pin layout like this:
Pin 1 - shield for both 3-pin xlr's & ground for 1/8" headphone
Pin 2 - red left xlr
Pin 3 - black left xlr
Pin 4 - red right xlr
Pin 5 - black right xlr
Pin 6 - right 1/8
Pin 7 - left 1/8
I've used this kind of configuration in a 5-pin stereo xlr hose, sharing the shield on pin 1... Will the fact that I'm sharing pin 1 with the xlr's with the ground in the headphone cause any interference with the sound?
