Hey all,

I am currently editing a video.

My problem happens when I drop a video effect onto a clip...

FOr instance, when i drop in the echo effect... the preview screen shows a black screen. I tried to render this part and it still shows up black.

I never had this problem in premiere pro 2.0 or cs3. What do you think is causing this? Settings?

Thanks for all input and help in advance.

Maybe try updating your video card drivers, it sounds like a display issue. It's worth a shot.

Hmmm... I tried to play with the video driver and already have the latest updates. The drivers are all updated.

Does anyone else have this issue or do you think you have any idea what could be causing the screen to go black and not preview the video when i drag in the Echo video effect?

Thanks!

Can you give some more info about the clip - what format is it? What are your system specs?

Hmmm.....I have exactly the same problem. In CS4 the preview screen is black when the echo effect is added. On the same system under CS3 its perfect. CS4 on the same system dual booted to 64bit system shows up the problem once again.

I have a Quad core 2.6 with a NVIDIA 9800GT 1G graphics adapter

My Clip is an SD 16:9 clip in PAL

I'm having the same issue and trying to find solution. Never had a problem with my usual P2 files...only the AVIs. When I add an effect, it's basically a crapshoot whether or not the preview shows up or if there's a black screen.

I don't think it's the drivers. Any suggestions are appreciated.
