I'm back looking at 35mm adapters after a few years away. After racking my mind trying to decide which one was best long ago I resigned myself to the fact that I would just wait. with all the compelling new offerings I'm ready to get one.

Here's my question...

Do current cameras like the HMC150 allow the flipping of the image within the camera so a flip adapter is not needed?

If so, is this practical seeing as how the footage will then need flipped in post?

The upsides I see are not needing the expense or weight of a flip module while the downside being the post flipping.

What's the current status on this type of setup and the requirement for a flip module? I know my DVX will not flip an image without using an external monitor to do so.

I use the flip function on my 170 with my redrock all the time. I never use the Micro x now. It cuts down on size and makes it very easy to put together and take apart. You're still stuck with flipping footage in post, but if you use raylight it's easy.

Lib, the Brevis MP.1 (and soon MP.2) remains a modular system and can be used with or without our flip. The Proteus rails system was designed to support both flipped and non-flipped version too.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like a flip unit may not be needed then.

Dennis, when is your version 2 brevis going to be available and what changes will it bring over version 1?
