i think i may have gotten the shaft on this deal, but i got a letus from an unnamed user. it arrived today and i'm not happy with its appearance nor its performance.
i have used the original letus, without the flip module and i didn't have these issues with it.
here is a still taken from video. pretty much i have to zoom all the way in 100% for there to be no vignetting. its like the adapter itself is off center. and i'm pretty sure this is not normal.

this was taken with an hmc150.
and also, it appears that the rear glass was glued on? and not even the right size? not to mention very dusty inside the unit.

i've emailed the user asking to to return it.

uhh that looks pretty nasty. I've never used a Letus but that definitely is not right.

and not to mention it sounds like there are loose parts inside the unit.

Nope, that's definitely not the way it should look. Depending on the camera you shouldn't have to go in more than about 75-80% of the zoom range to get a usable image, and definitely there should be no glue on the glass.

Looks like he/she used super glue/gorilla glue, big no no !! You'll need to razor blade any of the glass with rubbing alcohol and as for the screen if there's any on it, this will need to be replaced.

I dont think this unnamed member should remain unnamed....

I have a LEX, but I'm not sure I would call what you've got a LEX... that is rubbish man. Get you money back asap (then name the unnamed...)

i don't want to name the user, i'm going to give them a good day or so to return calls/emails.
and also, the lenses don't really snap into place with this unit. it appears that they had been taped on in the past as there is tape residue in that area.
i tried putting a lense on the unit and checking the image. pretty nasty. there is really bad ghosting, like 5 or 6 ghosts of an object.

Wow. That sucks.
the off center issues is normal, but not the dirt, as said by the others. Get refunded.

after inspecting it more, it appears that the mirrors inside the unit are hot glued in place and hot glue strings are sticking up everywhere. wtf! i'm so pissed right now.

so i sent the unit back to letus and previously unnamed user was going to take care of costs for the unit. he paypal'd me a portion of the funds(which we agree'd on). then letus gets the unit and tells me they cannot service the unit. they send it back to me, i email previously unnamed user and get no response. call unnamed user and leave voicemail. i sent him a text, no response. tried to call again this week, phone number is no longer in service.
so MOVIEMASTER, where are you at? i've been real cool about this whole ordeal. and now i know you are definitely trying to screw me over. not cool man.
i traded you a perfectly good working firestore fs-100 for a box of shit. i just want my firestore back or money for it.
i didn't want to make this public but you've given me no choice.

sounds like this isn't a LEX but an old Letus Flip.
i know my old letus35A was held together with glue. and the nikon mount didn't lock. maybe this was the same for the flip and this is actually the proper condition.... though there shouldn't be lose parts. that's just crap.

btw there is a guide to cleaning and fixing the old letus flip on youtube. also if you cut out a small ring of card/plastic and put it behind the mount. you can stabilize it and make it much better, though lenses still wont lock.

I think their is a huge misunderstanding I informed you that I needed to replace the prism and you agreed to take the unit
We traded units and we both by sending our stuff agreed to what we get is what we get... no buts
know I had a really bad winter i explained that my roof needed to be fixed I called you back and you sir you words were I need an adapter so do what you need.
so I called Quyen the guy that made the adapter he gave us both a price to fix the unit from their you emailed him photos of the unit which he agreed to fix the unit.
okay I called you back we both settled on an amount of money which i paid you that night.
I wished you luck with your unit and that is that
done deal
Since then yes i moved changed my number because i needed a new home and it was to cold. i did not know their was life long agreement
my freind you settled for the cash if you some how managed to screw up the deal with quyen then call me back 5 months latter moaning about our deal sorry man thats is not my prob

I imagine the...asylum of hell...isn't the best place to buy used film equipment from.
