I have been unable to book jobs because I don't get a good result when I'm exporting 720Pn/25 from premiere.

Can someone PLEASE help me out here?

Thanks,
~fredrik

What delivery mode do you want. For DVD, have you exported to Encore?

Thanks for the reply; No, I was thinking for the web. best quality and downloadable.
5 min - 120 mbish.

Thanks.
it seems to be that all my images get hella noisy and really poor when exporting (even when recording but, yes)

For the dvxfest here, the export codec must be h.264 and that's for good reason since it's a good web viewing codec.

You just need to mess with the mbits per second to get the best ratio of quality to size. Also reduce your frame size and your audio khz. Audio usually is a tiny file in comparison to video but it adds up quick when making small web files. Also use a variable bit rate because it will save space when there isn't much going on in the shot.

Best,
Andy

h.264 is the best that ive seen. I did a test shoot in HDV and tried different export settings. i found a settings list.

Do this.

Although Premiere is a great NLE, its encoding capabilities leave much to be desired. It's best to output uncompressed, preferably from AE, and then use a dedicated encoding program, such as Squeeze.

hi, the family event is over but I'm now at work on my break on my iPhone! and just wanted to say real quick, how the hec can you export from AE if we're talking about premier here! So your saying, export from premier! Then import to AE! then export from AE! you might as well put the video file in the washer and drier while your at it! My P2 footage won't go directly into AE. I don't know about yours. gotta get back to work, I'll be back

no, screw AE for now. I'm talking best quality possible from Premiere and leave out the size for now, cuz' I'll throw it into squeeze.

what seems to work for me with the highest quality is JPEG or JPEG 2000. H264 if Im emailing a sample.

I edit and output with CS3, I also did a bit of testing... but only between H.264 and WMV. I'm finding that with H.264 I get better edging if that's an actual technical term, the edges don't have as much jagged edges as wmv, but the color of H.264 seems washed out, and H.264 is really causing alot of speckly noise. With WMV I get richer colors, and the noise pattern is quite different. Kind of pleasant compared to the speckled noise... So, based on my tests I've decided to use WMV for web videos, but I always try to keep the bitrate as high as possible.

the H.264 is pretty okay for me now actually. But my HVX is still noisy as hell, as I have wined about in another thread, and I guess that's just the good ol' HVX..

I'll try that JPEG setting, Luis. thanks
