Hi Folks!
I am very new to all of this so please forgive my inexperienced questions. *I am aware of all of the editing software ya'll have spoken of but I wondered what the opinion is on Pinnacle's Liquid edition? I've been told that Premiere & Pinnacles more professional liquid versions are in the same arena as far as professional abilitys and since I am already familiar with studio I thought I would go that route rather then have to start the learning process over. *
Any thoughts?
Thanks! *:D

I am currently learning Liquid and I ahve used premiere. They are all going to require starting over. Studio 8 is very easy to grasp, but all the other other programs are nothing like it, even Pinnacle Liquid, it is totally different ballgame.

Yeah, don't go into Edition thinking it's just a more muscular version of Studio. Not even on the same planet.
Premiere and Edition are comparable programs; Premiere Pro has 24p ability and the potential for Dolby Digital surround sound mixing (you have to pay extra for that). Liquid Edition has the best color-correction tools for its class. (An upgrade to include 24p and surround-sound mixing is highly anticipated to be announced soon, especially since Studio 9 has surround-sound capabilities and hits the stores within a month.)
Premiere, of course, has tight integration with other Adobe products, like After Effects, Photshop, and their new Encore.

To my knowledge, Premiere Pro doen not support 24p. It will accept the DVX's Pull Down at 29.97, but I've never heard of that.
Either way, I think the difference between 24p and 24pA is minute and I'm not worried about it. Premiere Pro is a good tool for the Prosumer who doen't want to take the jump up to Avid. You could always take a jump to the side with FCP, but why bother.
Your editing experiences should lead you to Avid. Just get out of the Pinnacle world, it's not real.

ppro does support 24p, but it doesnt do the pulldown natively, you have to use a 3rd party app like dvfilmmaker or AE to do the pulldown to 24p to edit.. and then use the 3rd party app to convert that 24p edit to ntsc again if nessecary

What sucks about the Pinnacle world isn't Liquid Edition -- it's a fine program -- it's Pinnacle's business model.
If you use a Pinnacle product, just prepare to be on your own.
