anyone know where I can find tutorials on how to do that very fast hypnotic strobing/flashing effect where two different images are shown milli-secs apart...

Are you talking about having two different video clips stobing, seeing one frame of Clip A, and then one frame of Clip B, and then having them alternate?

Or do you mean the look of a higher shutter speed?

yes I'm refering to the a to b alternating...I'm experimenting with cutting up 2 scenes into individual frames, but it seems tedious...I trying to find a faster way.

i dont know that youll be able to set anything to somthing with even 1000 frams per sec, so doing somthing millisecs apart is really out of the question..:) just kidding on the comment of course.

:) milli second ? i think our very eyes will not be able to difference between frame a or b at that speed ( 1 frame runs at around 33 milli second at 30 fps, right ? )

If you were really Agg you could take every frame for this sequence and photoshop it to contain 1/2 of the next frame, and then the last peice was at the first half of the next. That will give you something wicked trippy. =) I said wicked, I'm so not east coast. (Good times)

And there is no more "A" and "B" editing anymore, get with the times =).

Hahaha shut up PurposeDriven, I'll call 'em whatever I want to! Frame A Frame B YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!! ;) :P

I actually knew a guy who did this once, taking FRAME A (;)) and FRAME B and alternating the cuts between the sequences. It looked really trippy, he actually made the video in order to see how long people would watch it for! His point WAS to piss people off.

It worked.

So unless this is what you're trying to achieve, I'd suggest holding for two or three frames maybe, rather than alternating after every frame. But basically, as far as I know, cutting the individual frames is what you gotta do if you want that look.

(and just as a little tidbit of information, the guy who made the "seisure" videos as we called them eventually tried it out on 16mm. He ended up breaking the projector because there were too many splices on the reel! Go figure....yet another reason to go digital!)

hi, thanks for all the replies, I've cut up 2 clips and basicly played it...it gives sorta the effect I want.

I'll get it, I am getting close.
