I am a new member and this is my first post.
Now down to the nuts n' bolts:
Just received new DVX100a and the Panny anamorphic lens yesterday and have captured about 10 minutes of dv so far.

When I capture anamorphic 24p and I drag the untitled clip to the timeline, it needs to be rendered. When I get properties on the clip in the timeline, it shows Video @ 29.97 fps. Curious...I thought I had the capture set to 24p ( 23.98 ) and 16:9 anamorphic.

1. Do I have to render all 24p footage I capture or am I missing a step?? As far as the pulldown in the camera, and going to FCP, it works great- it unsqeezes the image and adds the bars to the image.

2. Do the settings change with Advanced mode?

3. Do I need the DVX100 script from the extras cd? Where does it go?

side note:
This camera is awesome (especially in anamorphic)! I have had an L1, GL1, GL2 and now the DVX100a...wow! I have to say I am glad I went for the DVX instead of the XL1s. Sorry Canon but I had to. :)

Wait, I'm a little confused here...are you using Premiere or FCP?

I am using Final Cut Pro 4.1
I want to know what exact settings I am to use with the DVX100a.
So far the capture settings are set to 24p anamorphic, but it wants me to render once I put the clip on the timeline and says the clip is 29.97 fps.
Do I have to render 24p? My capture presets must be wrong.
Anyone have the presets ironed out? Oh, and what about the DVX100 script? Where does that go? You know, the script that comes with FCP 4 in the extras folder?

This is the Premiere Pro thread. Go back and click on the Final Cut Pro thread.
