Hi, I'm new on these boards but I've got a problem to deal with. Any help given would be appreciated. My work location is in Europe - ie. pal format.
I've been testing out different shooting formats using the DV-tape (ie. normal, squeezed, etc). For this last project I did, I shot it in the squeezed format.
On FCP 2, it exports out nicely into a DV-anarmorphic picture on screen. However, the problem starts there. Everytime, I try to test export it out to Quicktime format, it keeps showing it as 4:3 format with the footage stretched, which I don't want. I've been trying to export it as Quicktime format as 16:9 but I don't seem to be doing it right.
I've tried putting a 1:78:1 matte on it and then exporting it, but still no-go, it ends up as 4:3 still. Of course it could be that the sequence setting is set to 4:3 but it's already been automatically set to the footage setting.
Which leaves the quicktime movie format settings. I've tried exporting using DV Pal 48 hz anarmorphic but again it ends up as 4:3 in quicktime.
If anyone knows how to export such footage - shot in squeezed format using the hvx-201 - I'd really appreciate any help. I guess it's more an editing problem than a camera problem, but I'm not really an edit whiz.
Cheers.
