Mercury wide angle

Anyone ever heard of Mercury's wide angle adaptor? I have an HV20 and was wondering if anyone has used the Mercury and whether its picture is clear, etc?

I got a Merkury WA 52mm for $8 on ebay new. It works quite well, not sure if it resolves to HD specs! I found a sony wide angle VCL-ES06 for $10 that is lighter weight and gives a wider angle, but it needs to be modified to screw into a 52mm to 43mm adapter ring.

I went ahead and got the Mercury. On the box in one corner it says "High Definition 0.45x wide angle", and in the other corner "52mm".

Is that what yours says?

Yes and the Digital Optics brand looks identical to the Merkury. Someone has a webpage about the Merkury and HV20:
