i just edited and exported footage i shot in 24p in premiere 6.5 with no problem. ???

Editing 24pn footage in Premiere has never been a problem. The problem is that you can't edit natively in 24fps without a program like DV filmaker. Also, you cannot take your 24pn footage in a 29.976 timeline and render it out to a true 24p file, again, this is what you would use dv film maker for.
