Is there a way to change that stupid box that my footage goes into when I put it in Premier? When I render something with a letter box in AE it comes out exactly how I want it, but then if I immediatly put that into Premier and try and render it again, it comes out with bars on the side and really small on the screen. I just want it to look the same as it did when it came out of AE =( Thank you in advance for your help, you guys rock!

first of all make sure that your ppro project is set to be editing a .9 pixel aspect 4:3 project. it soujds like you have it set up as a 1.2 pixel anamorphic *which is incorrect. then you would just right click the footage in the project bin, and select "interpret footage" and select the footage to be a .9 pixel aspect 4:3 file.. you can do this to multiple files at once if you need to.

I set the aspect ratio for the project to .9 like you said and I interpreted the clip the same way and it still doesnt fit the box =( When I try and scale it up to fit, I still have black bars on the side, or if I scale it up enough to get rid of those I lose my letter box.

i think your probably still missing one of those two things, try starting a new project, and make sure its a 720x480 ntsc dv 4:3 project at a .9 aspect, and then import the footage file into the project, and make sure its 720x480 ntsc dv video interpreted to .9 4:3 *if these two things are done right there is no scaling, or sizing involved. if you have to resort to scling or sizing just to get a 4:3 video to display right in a 4:3 project , then it is not set up right, or the software is glitching. *if its not working properly, and your sure that its set up right, i would reinstall premiere. *but call their help desk first. perhaps there is a known issue with your particular editing setup? somtimes strange things happen for no reason though...
