Please help!

I have never used Premiere before, and I am testing out my friend's Premiere 6.0 right now. I wish he was around to help me out but he is not. Please don't hate me for asking such stupid questions.

I connected my camcorder correctly, but I don't see any images when I try to do a movie capture. I only hear sound. It seems like it is capturing footages, but has a hard time capturing footages more than 2 minutes long.

And what is the standard load project setting for NTSC DV editing?
I picked "DV Playback" for editing mode, "29.97" for Timebase, "30 fps Non Drop-Frame Timecode" for Time Display, "44100 Hz" Audio Rate, Lower Field First....
Does this sound alright?

Thank you to anyone who can give me any advices.
thank you.

audio should be 48khz otherwise looks good for settings. you may not be seeing the video becuase you may not have it seelectd to play the video back on the desktop/monitor during capture.. check to be sure, and if it is, then its just screwy.. need more info..but one peice of advice would be to get rid of 6.0 and spring for the new ppro. its a world of difference, and its really no use tolling around with the old version to get it working right amyway :).

iamloser,
Thank you so much, You made my day!
You are my hero for Today.

By the way,
I have one more question,
What setting should I use for Pixel Aspect Ratio(under Video Project Setting)?
I picked D1/DV NTSC(0.9), is it alright?

Should I go for Square pixels? I know computer pixels are more square than TV pixels, but I don't know which one to pick. I am going to use my edited footages mostly for TV viewing.

And one more thing,

Where is this "play the video back on the desktop/monitor during capture" selection?
Can't find it....
Once again, sorry for such amatuer questions.

Thank you.

if your editing DV 4:3 video, then you would ALWAYS use the .9 pixel aspect ratio. if your editing 16:9 video(not letterbox..which is 4:3, but actuall 16:9 video) then you would use the 1.2 pixel aspect.

..im not even sure if p6.0 has the option for the desktop playback during capture , but it would be in the project settings under capture..if it has it :P
