..if you legally own it , you can just download them for free from the adobe site using your registration.

not neccesarily...
i own a fully legit, registered copy of premiere pro and i couldn't download it no matter what i tried.
i wound up getting a great deal on the video collection with premiere pro and just for the hell of it i registered that copy of premiere pro and under that registration i had no problem.
so it is possible that they have a bug on their registration thing where it just doesn't show some people the menu to download that.

Some people don't like to register their products also. I hardly ever register software, but I do register Adobe products.
